The Wine Store Jungle

You just walked into a wine store with 2,300 different labels. A nice young man comes towards you and asks if he can help you. He looks like he recently turned 21 and very possibly has tried just a few wines in his lifetime. This is often the time a consumer gives it over to the helper at hand, feels a bit overwhelmed, or tries to find the sure thing. Do I buy the 90 point Wine Spectator Wine I heard about at a recent party, go on-line to Robert Parker.com, poll the audience, phone a friend, look for a pretty label or one with a dog, try to find anything familiar looking, or trust the stranger who just asked you if they could help you...

In making your selections, one thing that I probably would not trust is what you've seen advertised, or what you see all over town filling the shelves of the big groceries.

That's where this class, The Wine Store Jungle, comes in. The goal here is seeing the wine shop as the playground it is! We will explore understanding from outside the bottle what's on the inside, and many other things that will help you choose wine with surprisingly frequent success, even though you might not know what you're choosing.

I have had the opportunity to spend 6 years running a wine shop where we created the tag line, "Wines you want, before you know you want them." This class empowers you and makes wine choosing fun!!!
